One of the big talking points of the first half of today's Leinster SFC final was the decision by referee Padraig Hughes to disallow a Meath goal in the 26th minute.

The Armagh official failed to apply the advantage rule when Dalton McDonagh was fouled after he fielded a high ball from Mickey Newman and laid off a pass to Stephen Bray who rifled the ball to the Dublin net.

Had the 'goal' stood, Meath would have had the margin back to three points, 1-4 to 1-7. Instead, the dominant Dubs extended their advantage to build up a seemingly unassailable 1-12 to 0-6 half-time lead.
