Slane 0-13
Wolftones 1-10

The first round of the Junior B Championship was completed this weekend as Slane took on The Wolf Tones on an excellent Seneschalstown pitch. On an difficult windy evening for football both teams played some excellent football. The first half was balanced with both teams trading point for point with the Wolf Tones going into the break 7 points to 5 ahead, Slane played against the wind in the first half but with Eoin Feely punishing any wolf tones fouling with accurate free taking kept slane in touch. The second half started at a great pace set by both teams and saw the wolf tones go into a 4 point lead were the old Slane teams would half folded the new squad dug in and started to fight, Slane having come through some difficult years due to emigration and retirement introduced 4 subs and each player contributed to the comeback and a last gasp score by Jim Marry secured a deserved draw on the day.

Slane scores. Eoin Feely 8 points ( 7 frees), Daniel Carlon 1 point, Kevin Reilly 1 point, Padraic McGowen 1 point and Jim Marry 2 points.
