Gaeil Colmcille suffered their first defeat in this B League Division 2 match played in Nobber on Tuesday evening.

The Gaeils got off the mark with a point from wing back Shane Reilly, but that was the only lead they could keep for the remainder of the match. Soon afterwards, Nobber had the ball in the visitors net and led by 2-04 to 0-4 at half time. Barry Farrelly scoring the Gaeils' other (0-03) points two from frees.

The second half started well for Nobber who hit 2-04 without reply. Two more points from Farrelly and a super goal by substitute Paul Murphy was just not enough for the visitors to get back into the game. Sub John Morris got his name on the board with a point but it was all too little too late. A Barry Farrelly goal well into injury time left six points between them at the final whistle.
