A late comeback from Dunshaughlin wasn't enough as Summerhill ran out one point winners in this A League match played in Dunshaughlin.

Summerhill started the brighter of the two teams with two points in the opening five minutes. Cathal O' Dwyer opened the home side's account after eight minutes before he was fouled a minute later and Trevor Dowd pointed the resultant free. Two frees from the vistitors restored their two point lead but a Dowd free and two points from play from Conor Devereux put Dunshaughlin a point to the good in the 28th minute. Summerhill equalised a minute later but another Dowd free meant Dunshaughlin led at the break 0-6 to 0-5.

Summerhill raced out of the blocks in the second half with three unanswered points. They pointed again in the 38th minute after Dowd had scored from play. Two more Dowd points from play got Dunshaughlin back on level terms by the 40th minute. Devereux scored two minutes later to give Dunshaughlin the lead for what proved to be the final time. Summerhill equalised three minutes later and then just at the start of the third quarter they goaled through Ross Tallon to give them a three point cushion. Devereux pointed again in the 52ndminute to give Dunshaughlin some hope but Summerhill rallied again with three more unanswered points. Niall Murphy blasted over before Tadgh O'Dushlaine saw his speculative effort creep into the net as the game entered injury time. But there wasn't enough time for an equaliser.
