AFL1: Pat's dig out win
February 27, 2012

St Pats Shane Landy
St Patricks 2-11
Blackhall Gaels 2-6
St Patricks consolidated their win last week over St Peter's with a rather gritty display against a determined Blackhall Gaels.
Pat's started out of the blocks quickly with a point from Landy within the first minute. The referee then allowed play to continue and awarded a goal to Blackhall. Niall Mooney scored two goals and three points for his first half tally and Andrew Mooney sent over a fine point, the result of a clever pass from Daithí Whyte. Blackhall Gaels took two points from frees before the half time whistle to leave the Pats ahead by five points at the interval.
The first quarter of the second half saw tit for tat scores with the Pat's scoring two points followed by two points for the Gaels. A goal from the home side saw them within two points of the leaders and it was all to play for. The Gaels fightback never came and Pat's full forward took two more points along with Landy taking the final point of the match.
