Walterstown travelled to Dunderry and came away with their first two points of the league thanks to a hard earned four point win.
Walterstown started this game well and raced into a four point lead thanks to points from two Cormac Madden frees and points from Mark McCormack and David Donnellan from play. Dunderry got a trio of successive scores to leave the minimum between the sides before Walterstown finished the first half scoring with a Donnellan point following good work from Alban Crosbie, to lead by two points at the interval, 0-05 to 0-03.
Dunderry registered the first score of the second half to leave one point in it before Walterstown hit a purple patch and registered 1-03 in succession. Two Cormac Madden frees and a goal from Crosbie were followed by a point from Colin McGrane and a David Donnellan free. Dunderry scored next point to break the momentum before another Madden free left seven points in it. Dunderry got the next two points of the game before Michael Clarke finished the scoring for Walterstown with a point following an interception by Tom Walsh. Dunderry got the last two points of the game and the final act of the match was a good point blank save from Walterstown custodian Kieran Lydon.
