Carnaross made it two wins from two with an impressive victory over St Ultans where all but two of their scores came from play.
The home side started brightly and opened the scoring after five minutes. Carnaross responded with Niall McDonnell converting a free but St Ultans restored their advantage with a point in the next attack. Carnaross then went on to take the lead with two points from John L McGee but once again St Ultans hit back to leave the sides level at the midway stage of the half. Carnaross went on to dominate the remainder of the opening period and hit four points from John L McGee, Niall McDonnell (2) and John Ward. St Ultans got the final score of the half leaving Carnaross leading 0-7 to 0-4 at the break.
St. Ultans scored two quick points in the second-half to leave only one point between the sides but two points from John L McGee and John Carpenter restored the three point lead for Carnaross. St Ultans registered another point but Carnaross responded strongly with the full forward line hitting 1-5 without reply. Niall McDonnell got the first point followed by another from Declan Reilly. John L McGee then put Reilly through on goal and he made no mistake hitting the bottom corner of the net for the opening goal. Another two points from Reilly and one from John L McGee put Carnaross well in front with ten minutes remaining. St Ultans went on to add four points but Carnaross were still in control with two more points from Declan Reilly and John Ward before Niall McDonnell finished the contest fisting the ball to the net.
