Following their steady start to the league campaign St. Marys were in confident mood heading to take on the unbeaten Meath Hill on Sunday. This was helped hen the visitors found themselves with a narrow one point lead after five minutes following points from Robbie Callaghan and Eoin Morrisson, this situation didn't last long however. Meath Hill's intensity around the middle third again to starve St Marys of possession, the Meath Hill mean also began to find their rhythm and space in full forward line. The blitz that followed seen Meath Hill score 1-6 without reply, with Tommy Rooney grabbing the goal. St Marys finished the half the stronger with talisman Robbie Callaghan scoring three points before the break, despite this Meath Hill lead 1-9 to 0-5 at the interval.
St. Marys started the second half positively and added points through Cormac Drew and Stephen Bishop. St Marys then went on to have a 10 minute period of domination, however, unlike their Meath Hill counterparts in the first half they were unable to possession into scores but instead clocked up 8 wides inside 10 minutes. Math Hill then scored their second goal through Keith Ginnity after 48 minutes, this effectively ended the contest. Meath Hill followed up the goal with 4 unanswered points. The last two scores of the game came from Captain Robbie Callaghan and were inconsequential in the end.
