Drumconrath 2-8
Dunsany 1-7
Drumconrath kept their good start going with a four point win in Dunsany and so their unbeaten record continues.
Dunsany started best and pointed on 4 minutes as both sides found it hard to settle and indeed by the 12th minutes each had missed 2 goal chances as both Brendan Lyons and Sean McMahon shot wide and Sean Kane saved well twice at the other end.
Sean McMahon pointed a long range free as playing down the hill into the Clubhouse end. Drumconrath looked bright as while Ger O'Neill pointed for Dunsany Derek Duff and Stephan Crosby put Drums ahead on 20 minutes. In the remaining 10 minutes before half time Drumconrath struck for home as 1st Lyons palmed home and Crosby after a good move finished to the net in what was a devastating 4 minute spell. Leighton Irwin pointed a free to leave it 2-4 to 0-2 at the break.
Drumconrath opened well with another Irwin free but Dunsany with the breeze at their backs had their period of dominance and a couple of Niall Flynn points and a Sean Stephans goal had the gap down to a goal 2-5 to 1-5
Chris Tighe lifted Drumconrath with a good point and while O'Neill pointed again, two more Irwin frees pushed Drums 4 points up and as both sides missed chances from play and from frees. A late 13metre free was blocked out by Sean Kane and Stephan Crosby cleared the danger as the final whistle sounded.
Best for Drumconrath where Sean Kane, Oran Finnegan, Stephan Crosby, Christy Tighe and Brendan Lyons.
