ACFL 4: Moylagh outscore Kilbride

February 26, 2012

Moylagh's Danny Growney
Moylagh 2-12
Kilbride 0-4

Kilbride entertained a flamboyant Moylagh in a sunny Kilbride on Sunday. Kilbride were missing a few and the score line reflected that having being totally out played in the first have, Kilbride failing to register a single score. While the backs were showing that they could cope it was again for the fourth week running that turn over ball and quick supply to the Moylagh full forwards was the difference.

Moylagh was quick out of the block with three quick fire points to lead 3 to nothing. Kilbride were finding it tough in the middle of the field and couldn't get a breaking ball and when they did manage to get ball the final pass to the forwards was off target.

Aided with the breeze Moylagh opened the scoring through Aengus Fanning. Further points from Padraig McCormack, Tomas O'Reilly and Danny O'Growney, before Eanna Brody and Fanning found the net to give Moylagh a comfortable half time lead.

This game was over as a contest at half time Moylagh leading 2-8 to no score.

The second half did not pan out as the first as Kilbride showed more composure and started creating some chances but Moylagh scored first. It took ten minutes in the second half for Moylagh to get of the mark a point from Colm Fanning and this was followed up by Kilbride's first of the game and adding another three before Declan Brown called time on the match.

Moylagh finished with 2-12 and Kilbride 0-4 for their days efforts.

Ciaran Foley, Nathan Doyle, Padraig McCormack and Fanning played well for Moylagh.
