February 20, 2012

Clonard's Joey Darby
Curraha 2-12
Clonard 1-09
Curraha made it three wins from three in this division four encounter played in Clonard. Curraha started the game brightly and had two points on the board inside the opening two minutes thanks to David Coyle and Neil Shortall. Another point from Shortall and David Dunne had Curraha level at the break 0-4 to 0-4. Clonard's points came from Adrian Boland (0-1), Joey Darby (0-2) and Niall Walsh (0-1).
Curraha came out with a better intensity in the second half and were well in control through-out the half and when Simon McDermot latched onto a short kick out he buried the ball to the back of the Clonard net. Curraha were now on top and when a long ball was kicked into the full forward line Ian McManus did tremendously well too flick the ball over the keeper before finishing it too the net.
Despite a late rally from Clonard with a goal from Ian Campbell and points from Bernard Reilly (0-1), Johnny Fitzsimons (0-1), Joey Darby (0-1), David Rowley (0-1) it was not enough to secure a win.
Liam Hogan, Phelim Dowling, David Dunne and Ian McManus stood out for Curraha.
