Sunday Feb. 19th 2012
A FL Division 2

St. Michaels 0-7
Nobber 1-15

Nobber's greater strength in depth proved to be decisive in this feisty clash in Nobber on Sunday afternoon last.

Nobber were first on the scoreboard with a point after 2 minutes of play, this was cancelled out with a David Lynch free 2 minutes later however St. Michaels struggled to convert scores from open play with Kevin Cassidy being their only player to do so with a point on 25 minutes. The remainder of their first half scores came from frees from the boot of David Lynch, however they still trailed by 0-5 to 0-10 at the break.

Any chance St. Michaels had of a recovery were dashed early in the second half when straight from the throw-in a Nobber attack found the back of the net to leave it 1-10 to 0-5. David Lynch's two second half pointed frees were all St. Michaels could muster as in the first half they were again found wanting in front of goals and two good goal chances were blasted wide. Nobber were reduced to 14 men with a sending off midway through the second half, but by that stage they had the points in the bag.

ST. MICHAELS: Darren O'Connell, Ronan Cassidy, Philip Rogers, Patrick Flood, Sean Gaffney, Mark Stafford, Sam Briody, Brendan Ryan, Paul McCormack, David Lynch 0-6, Ciaran Lynch, Daithi Reilly, Kevin Cassidy 0-1, John Farrell, Michael Murphy. SUB: Peter O'Connell for Paul McCormack.
