AFL3: Ultan's fall to Syddan

St Ultans kicked off 2012 on Sunday but it was not a winning start as they were beaten comprehensively by an impressive Syddan outfit.

Conditions were near perfect in Syddan. The first half was even enough with the score at half time with Syddan marginally ahead by a point. Syddan 0-6 Ultans 0-5. Paul Murray opened Ultan's scoring after about 10 minutes with an excellent point from play. Cian Rennicks opened his account with 2 points from frees. Shane Rennicks scored a point from play.

In the second half Ultans could not get close to Syddan at all. Shane Rennicks scored their first point of the half with after an excellent move. However Syddan pulled away and won by double scores in the end.
