AFL3: Bracks off to a winner
February 20, 2012

Ballinabrackey's Danny Quinn
Drumbaragh travelled to South Meath on Sunday afternoon to take on Ballinabrackey, with recent games between these two outfits being closely contested this was sure to be no different.
Ballinabrackey did settle into the game a lot quicker and began to tip the points over through Danny Quinn and Chris O'Connor. Wing forward Aidan Flynn added another and with Damien Carroll on the frees and further points from Joe Bannon and Quinn the Bracks were leading by 8 points to 2 nearing half time, with Thomas Carry getting the two scores for Drumbaragh.
However Drumbaragh handed themselves a lifeline before the break when dispossessing the Bracks defence to work the ball through and Carry planted it in the net. Drums added another 2 points to the scoreline before the break which left it at the Bracks leading by 1 point, 0-8 to 1-4.
The second half started brightly for both teams with points traded at either end, however the Drums outfit could not cope with Quinn up front and some great fielding and possession winning in the middle by the Bracks which led them to notching on more points. Scores from Trevor and Finbar Bannon, Brendan Glennon and Aidan Flynn in the second half kept the Bracks in front. Darragh McNamara responded with a couple of scores for Drumbaragh as the game finished on a scoreline of Ballinabrackey 0-16 Drumbaragh 1-6.
