Carnaross made a winning start to the league with eight points to spare over Kilmainhamwood.
The first-half was tight throughout with most of the scores coming late in the half. Carnaross opened the scoring after five minutes when John L McGee scored a point from play. Kilmainhamwood levelled matters soon after before going on to take the lead from a free after twenty minutes. Carnaross finished the half strongly scoring four points in a row in the last seven minutes from McGee (3) and Damian Smith to lead 0-5 to 0-2 at the break.
Kilmainhamwood got the first point after the restart and could have had a goal on two occasions but Cillian Comaskey kept them out. Carnaross responded well and added three more points from John L McGee, Declan Reilly and Damian Smith after ten minutes. Another point from Kilmainhamwood left four points in it with fifteen minutes remaining. Niall McDonnell converted a free for Carnaross and then he linked up well with John L McGee to score the game's only goal from close range. Declan Reilly pointed for Carnaross before Kilmainhamwood finished the scoring in added time.
