AFL4: Two from two for Curraha

February 12, 2012

Curraha's Neil Shortall
Curraha 0-10
Meath Hill 1-06

Curraha made it two wins from two in this division four encounter played in Meath Hill. Curraha started the game brightly and were well in control for most of the half and although Liam Hogan did have to pull off a great save midway through the half, points from David Dunne, Neil Shortall (2), Alan Carroll, Simon McDermott and Phelim Dowling had Curraha in front 0-7 to 0-3.

Meath Hill were left to rue three missed first half goal chances

The second half didn't see Curraha perform as well as they did in the second half as it turned into a dog fight around the middle third and when Meath Hill got in for a goal from Donnchadh Boyle with ten minutes remaining the game was in the balance but a free from David Dunne and a point from David Coyle had Curraha still in control. However there was still time left and with the scores made level, a monster point from Neil Shortall settled the win for Curraha.

Overall it was a solid team display with everyone putting in huge commitment and effort.

Best for the Hill were the aforementioned Boyle, Niall Tully, Karl Parge and Niall Yorke.
