Minor Board AGM sees new Asst. Secretary

A well attended meeting was conducted in a smooth and efficient manner by John Kavanagh (selected as Chairman by County Management) in the first Coiste Na Mi Sub Committee meeting of the year.

The top table got good praise from the floor in the manner Coiste Fé 18 conducted its affairs for 2011.

Winning the Minor Hurling All-Ireland B title was top of the agenda with the Cup proudly displayed. Progression to the All-Ireland Minor Football Quarter Final was also spoken about and hope is high that greater heights can be obtained by the Footballers in 2012.

Grading was another item to get a hearing and the Committee where praised despite the handicap of the 2010 results not been made available to the 2011 committee and a regulation was passed to ensure sanctions would be in place should such an event occur in the future.

Out going Assistant Secretary Ken McKenna (Donaghmore/Ashbourne) got great praise for all his work over numerous from a number of delegates as he stepped down from his position due to work commitment and these where led by Chairman John Kavanagh and Chairman Coiste na Mi Barney Allen.

Paul Reilly (St Peters Dunboyne) was elected unopposed to the position for 2012.

Barney Allen explained the rules on exemptions and amalgamations in force since congress 2011 to an interested audience and answered some questions on the matter which will effect clubs in 2012.
