Na Fianna 2-14
Cortown 1-6

Na Fianna recorded their second victory in the 2011 Intermediate Championship campaign with a fairly comfortable victory over Cortown in Boardsmill last Sunday.

While Na Fianna opened the scoring with a Daniel Queeney free, Cortown quickly secured the lead with a goal and two points in the first ten minutes. However a series of points from Jamie Queeney, Mick Foley and Dean Barrett, coupled with an Eoin Murray goal, left the South Meath team with a 1-7 to 1-5 half time lead having played against the strong breeze. Tenacious defending by the Na Fianna backs helped keep the Cortown scores to a minimum.

Na Fianna, with the aid of the breeze dominated the second half and further points from Queeney, Foley, Murray and a Dalton McDonagh goal saw them run out easy winners.

Apart from those already mentioned the following also played well for Na Fianna, Christy Cosgrove, Seanie Griffin and Brian Queeney.

Na Fianna: Shane Geraghty, Davy Lyons, Christy Cosgrave, Tommy Cosgrave, John Baldwin, Seanie Griffin, Eoin Murray (1-1), Ollie Lewis, Brian Queeney; Dean Barrett (0-1); Michael Foley (0-3); Conor Downey; Daniel Queeney (0-4), Jamie Queeney (0-5) Dalton McDonagh (1-0);. Subs: Harrison Silke for Downey; Pauric Hogan for Barrett; Dean Henrick for Lewis.
