SHC quarter-final: Trim through to last four
August 30, 2010

Trim's Ryan Andrews
Trim 0-16
Killyon 0-7
A semi-final meeting with champions Kildalkey is Trim's reward for a decisive win over Killyon in the Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear SHC quarter-final at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday afternoon.
Alan Douglas accounted for half of Trim's tally and by the end five of his team mates had also registered from open play.
Just three Killyon players got off the mark with just one of their starting forwards, Adam Gannon, scoring from play.
Playing into the town end, Trim outscored Killyon by 0-6 to 0-0 in the final quarter while the losing side had David Raleigh red-carded near the end.
Nearly ten minutes elapsed before Neil Heffernan opened the scoring. Two fine efforts from midfielder Padraig McKeown saw Killyon lead briefly before the end of the opening quarter.
A Douglas free levelled matters for the second time before Heffernan restored Trim's advantage and John Andrews' charges held it to the end.
The first-half was uninspiring stuff and one of the few highlights was a Joey Toole effort that left it 0-6 to 0-2, 29 minutes in.
Points from Adam Gannon and Keith Keoghan (free) halved the deficit but in the fourth minute of stoppage time Thomas Farrell sent over to leave it 0-7 to 0-4 at the break.
Two further pointed frees from Keoghan cut the deficit to the minimum, 0-6 to 0-7, within four minutes of the restart. These scores were countered by similar efforts from Douglas.
Damien McGee pounced on a poor puck-out by Stephen Quinn and Trim were four points clear. Adam Gannon pulled on back for Killyon but they failed to score again.
A Douglas effort from play after James Togher's shot was saved by Killyon 'keeper Stephen Quinn restored Trim's four-point lead heading into the final quarter.
Trim closed out the game with five unanswered points including one from midfielder Ronan Fitzsimons and another from Toole.
