St. Michaels ladies reached the semi-final of the Meath Ladies Intermediate championship with this hard earned one point victory over Walterstown in an entertaining match played in Carlanstown on Wednesday evening last.

The winners built up a substantial first half lead through scores from Aisleen Regan and Megan O'Brien 0-2 each and 0-1 each from Fiona Nevin, Sinead McCormack and Edwina Olwill to leave them 0-7 to 0-1 ahead at the break.

Walterstown got off to a dream start in the second half when they goaled in the first minute, this was quickly followed by two points from play, however these were cancelled out by two points from Aisleen Regan. Walterstown reduced the deficit to two points on 46 minutes but again Regan came to the fore and restored St. Michaels 3 point lead on 49 minutes. Sinead and Niamh McCormack 0-1 each completed the scoring for St. Michaels who looked comfortable at 4 points ahead in the 58th minute but then Walterstown goaled from a rebounded free kick to leave just the minimum between the sides entering injury time, however time ran out on them and St. Michaels now progress to meet Moylagh in the Intermediate semi-final on Saturday evening next Aug. 28th at 7pm in Moylagh.
