The Summerhill Ladies returned to action for the first time since 2008 and started with a shock victory over Moylagh in Oldcastle.

Moylagh started well and were 4 points ahead after 10 minutes. Summerhill then replied through good point kicking from Ann-Marie Carey and Andrea Pearle, followed by a well taken goal by Amy Tyrrell.

In the second-half Summerhill moved Ceilidh Dalton into the full back line and she was outstanding keeping the Moylagh forwards at bay. The partnership of Ciara Daly and Ann-Marie Fagan started to dominate midfield and half forward Julianne Scanlon scored 2 cracking goals to keep Summerhill in the lead. Moylagh threatened for some late goals but Rebecca Payne, Ciara Kennedy, Derina Rispin and Dalton done their best to deny them a late comeback. Summerhill held on for the win after a superb team display.
