St. Michaels got their B league Division 4 campaign off to a winning start with this easy win over Dunboyne in Dunboyne on Sunday.

The St. Michaels forwards, in particular Ben Farrell and Ronan Cassidy were in top form in contrast to their Dunboyne counterparts who only managed 2 points from play and a converted penalty for the entire match.

Ronan Cassidy opened the scoring after 3 minutes with a goal, this was followed by points from Ronan Farrell, Ben Farrell and Ronan Cassidy before Dunboyne converted a penalty in the dying seconds of the first half to leave St. Michaels 1-3 to 1-1 ahead at the break.

The second half followed the trend of the first with the St. Michaels forwards scoring at ease, the goal coming after 20 minutes from the boot of Kevin Cassidy. Dunboyne battled hard in the last fifteen minutes but with the St. Michaels backs holding a firm grip of everything that came their way and erratic shooting of the Dunboyne forwards meant the points were going back to Carlanstown / Kilbeg.
