Ward doubtful for Westmeath clash

Meath's Cian Ward
Cian Ward has been rated as a doubt for Meath's meeting with neighbours Westmeath in the National Football League this Saturday night at Pairc Tailteann.

The Wolfe Tones man, who top-scored for the Royals in the last year's All-Ireland SFC with 3-26, is suffering from a groin strain and could miss out on the game which Eamonn O'Brien's team will be looking to take two points from and boost their bid for promotion to Division One.

O'Brien has recently received welcome boosts with the news that forward pair Joe Sheridan and Brian Farrell are both fit again, although the latter isn't expected to be ready for the Lake County's visit to Navan this weekend.
