A FL: Moran goal keeps good Dunboyne run going
July 01, 2009

Dunboyne's Conor O'Donoghue
Dunboyne 1-13
Summerhill 0-11
Stephen Moran's late goal was the deciding factor in this entertaining encounter as Dunboyne recorded their second home win in four days, thus elongating their unbeaten run in all competitions to five games.
As with the Feis Cup encounter against Wolfe Tones, Tommy O'Connor was again very much to the fore notching five points from play, three of which arrived in the first half, at the end of which his team trailed by the minimum, 0-07 to 0-08.
Two Brian Ennis frees stretched the 'Hill's lead still further on the resumption but thereafter Dunboyne assumed control. The moving of O'Connor to midfield to replace the injured Gerry Gallagher was the catalyst for same as he raised two more white flags before Moran's late strike - following a superb pass from Denis Gallagher - put the result beyond doubt.
Colm Brennan, Stephen Hogan, Craig Berrigan, O'Connor and the entire full forward line of Ger Robinson, Conor O'Donoghue and Stephen Moran caught the eye most for the winners.
