Na Fianna 5-14 Ratoath 1-05 Na Fianna maintained their unbeaten record in the Junior Hurling championship when they recorded a 21 point victory over Ratoath in Kiltale on Saturday evening. Na Fianna got off to a great start when they scored 2-3 in the first 10 mins, with the scores coming from Paul Hanley (1-03) and Anthony Boggan (1-0). Indeed, as the first half wore on, Na Fianna continued to tag on the scores while keeping a shut out of the Ratoath attack. Great defensive work from the entire Na Fianna team kept Ratoath scoreless for the first half, while further scores from Paul Hanley, Donal Curran and Dean Henrick ensured that Na Fianna led by 3-09 to 0-00 at half time. The only set back in the first half been a hand injury sustained by Marty Dixon. The second half saw a spirited comeback by Ratoath as they notched up some excellent points from play and frees. Na Fianna kept the scoreboard ticking over with further goals from Paul Hanley and Anthony Boggan to ensure that Ratoath never got back into the game. Ratoath scored a deserved goal right at the final whistle. Best for Na Fianna in what was an all round team performance were David Gorman in defence, Dean Henrick and Donal Curran at midfield, Adam Burke, John Fagan and Richie Flynn put in some great defensive work in the forwards while Paul Hanley and Anthony Boggan took the scoring plaudits. Na Fianna are now second in the table with 2 games left to play behind Donaghmore Ashbourne who they play next with their final game against Kilmessan.
