Feis Cup: Oldcastle surprise Walterstown
June 28, 2009

Oldcastle's Alan McCann
Oldcastle 1-07
Walterstown 1-06
Intermediates Oldcastle defeated seniors Walterstown in the opening round of the Feis Cup played on Friday night last in Walterstown.
With rain decorating the atmosphere, the men from North Meath started brightly and had two points on the board before the Blacks registered their first score.
It was nip and tuck for a lot of the first half with Oldcastle the more impressive side and when Packie Kevin got in for a well taken goal Oldcastle went in at the break 1-04 to 0-02 up.
Padraig Coyle gave his Walterstown charges a thorough going through at half time and it seemed to work wonders as they hit form on the restart to post a goal and a few points to leave the sides level.
However Oldcastle dug deep and finished stronger to give themselves a rare victory over senior opposition with the Blues having a point to spare over their illustrious opponents.
