This was one of the best games of Club Football seen in the county for some time. Last term's beaten finalists in this competition led by 0-09 to 0-07 at the interval with excellent long range scores from Craig Berrigan, O'Connor and Stephen Moran being the highlight. He then clipped over his third point before the best two scores of the game arrived courtesy of Gary Watters and Ger Robinson to guarantee a home win with a huge free from the impressive Barry McGinn accounting for the Tones' only response to the late salvo.
