KILLARY EMMETS 5-6 DUNDERRY 3-6
KILLARY EMMETS will meet Ballinabrackey in the U-15 Division 5 FL decider following this hard fought win at Syddan on Sunday morning.
The hosts started slowly and had to wait 18 minutes for their opening score from Shane Carpenter.
They were never headed after Sean Myles scored the first of his two goals a minute later. Boosted by a second goal, this time from Seamus Doherty, Killary eventually led 2-3 to 1-3 at the break.
Killary had Myles Aver to thank for that interval lead as the keeper made a number of fine saves in the opening half.
When Myles struck for his second goal early shortly after the restart it left Killary six clear and that lead stretched further following another Carpenter point.
However Dunderry enjoyed a good spell after that and just two points separated the sides heading into the final quarter. They could have been ahead at that stage but Myles Aver again came to his side's rescue.
The Dunderry revival was halted by two quick Rian Monaghan goals and the wing forward capped a fine display by also adding two points in that final quarter.
