St. Michaels fell at the first hurdle in this first round match played in Moynalty.

The stronger combination side dominated proceedings from the outset even though they were playing into a strong wind in the opening half they still managed an opening half tally of 1-9, with just 0-5 from St. Michaels all coming from Shane McDonnell (0-4) and Oran Meehan (0-1).

St. Olivers opened their second half account with a goal in the opening minute and followed up with two further points to go 2-11 to 0-5 in front.

McDonnell, Meehan and Cian Sheridan tagged on 3 points in as many minutes for St. Michaels, however they struggled to get quality ball into their forwards and could only manage a further three points for the remainder of the half and although St. Olivers added just four further points, they were under no pressure and ran out easy winners in the end.
