U-17 FC division 5, semi-final.
St. Michaels/Nobber 2-10, Oldcastle 2-12
St. Michaels / Nobber and Olcastle served up an entertaining hour of football in Millbrook but it was the home side that advanced to the final after a narrow two point victory.
Cian Sheridan opened the scoring with a point for the visitors straight from the throw-in which was immediately cancelled out by the home side. Patrick Tobin blasted to the net on six minutes for the St. Michaels/Nobber side and four minutes later Stephen Clarke did likewise to go 2-3 to 0-2 in front.
Oldcastle rallied and found the back of the net at the start of the second quarter and they added their second major six minutes later to level the match. Despite points from Clarke, Tobin and Sheridan Oldcastle had the score line reading 2-8 to 2-6 in their favour at the interval.
Oldcastle played with the advantage of a strong wind in the second half however scores were hard to come by with both sides registering just four points apiece with Oldcastle holding out to advance to the final.
