HL Div 3: Three from three for Kildalkey

Kildalkey 1-13 Dunderry 0-9

Kildalkey's intermediates travelled to Dunderry on Saturday night onthe eve of the Dunderry fair to take on their senior counterparts in the Division 3 Hurling League.

Weather conditions were bad again as the rain poured down just as the game was about to start.

Dan Fagan started the scoring for the blues from an awkward angle. Luke Rickard popped up with a long range score while young Brian Coneely got a goal and a point in quick succession to stun the home side.

Two Ross Flynn frees an Arron Byas point and another Coneely point completed the scoring as Kildalkey led 1-7 to 0-4 at the half way point.

Dunderry made a good start to the second half with a couple of points to close the gap but the men in blue dug deep to fight off the challenge .

The defence were heroic with Sean Kirke, Steven Forde, Andy Fagan and Sean 'Crash' Corrigan playing their part in keeping the Dunderry men at bay as the came at them in droves looking to get back into the game.

At the other end of the field Kildalkey were far more economical.

Two Ross Flynn points from frees and one from play from  Arron Byas along with a real rousing long range point from Corrigan gave the village men a big lift. Coneely got the last score to leave it 1-13 to 0-9 at the full time whistle.

Everyone who played on Saturday can be proud of their efforts as they played brilliantly in another real team effort from this group who now have won 3 games in the division.
