Mayo v Carlow

July 22, 2008
The Christy Ring Cup Hurling semi-final tie between Mayo and Carlow has been fixed for Saturday next 26th July at 3pm in McHale Park, Castlebar. It will be the first time that Mayo have reached the semi-finals of the Tier 2 hurling championship, after overcoming Wicklow on a 3-18 to 1-22 scoreline after extra time in Aughrim on Saturday last. Yet again, Keith Higgins was in fine form converting nine points for Mayo while Adrian Freeman, Stephen Broderick and Derek McConn all goaled to seal the win for Martin Brennan and Pete Finnerty's charges.  The Mayo team for the Carlow game is expected to be announced after training on Thursday evening.
