Mayo centre back Trevor Howley is in line to play in the Connacht final against Galway on Sunday week after he returned to light training ahead of the provincial decider. Howley missed the Connacht semi final win over Sligo with an ankle injury and it was doubtful whether he would be fit enough in time for the final. However, he has responded well to training and Mayo manager John O'Mahony revealed that the player was making good progress in his recovery. "Trevor is back in light training and has made great progress, but it's too early to say whether or not he'll be fit for the Galway game," said O'Mahony. "The fact that he has recovered so quickly owes much to the hard work or our medical team and Trevor himself." Tweet
