Kevin McLoughlin says Mayo won't be using their controversial 2014 All-Ireland SFC semi-final replay loss to Kerry as motivation ahead of Sunday's game.

That game, which the Kingdom won by 3-16 to 3-13 after extra-time at the Gaelic Grounds, is sure to be referenced many times in the lead-up to the latest meeting of the counties, but as far as McLoughlin is concerned, it has no relevance.

"To us, it may be cliche as well, that game will have no reflection on the next day. We've played them a couple of times since then," the wing forward told the Western People.

"We won't be going back reviewing that game, that's for sure. There's a lot of other games to be reviewed for this year.

"We've played Kerry several times over the last couple of years, a few times in MacHale Park and sometimes down in Kerry. They've beaten us a couple of times and we've beaten them a couple of times.

"We know as a group as a group what we're capable of. I still think there's more in us yet."

Asked about getting away with that double hop in the lead-up to his goal against Roscommon the last day, McLoughlin replied: When I scored the goal, I wasn't sure if I had. In ways, I nearly convinced myself I didn't because nobody called me on it. No players or refs called me on it.

"Once it happened, I forgot about it."
