Aidan O'Shea says he will badger Pearce Hanley for the duration of his stay in Australia if it means the AFL star will return to playing for Mayo.

Hanley made his senior championship with the Westerners under John O'Mahony back in 2007 but later moved Down Under where he has since made a successful career for himself with the Brisbane Lions.

O'Shea is set to line-out alongside Hanley in Perth on Saturday, when Ireland take on Australia in the International Rules series, but the Breaffy man hopes that he'll don the green and red again at some point down the line.

"I'll be on to him every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'll sit beside him," O'Shea told the Irish Independent.

"I see that he was rated 25th in the top 50 in the 'Herald Sun'. That's how highly regarded he is over here so you can imagine what at an addition he would be to us at home. He would love to do it, I'm sure, but it's his life, his career and he's getting paid so it's very difficult to come home and leave that."
