Kevin McStay has reiterated his interest in the vacant Mayo senior football manager's position.

The All-Ireland club winning St Brigid's manager revealed on 'The Sunday Game' that he would welcome a call to discuss the role and he told the Irish Daily Star: "I said what I said on Sunday night.

"I'm still hoping someone will buzz me and ask have I a bit of an interest.

"I am very anxious to participate in the process. There are other guys interested. I realise it is an attractive team to go after."

Meanwhile, Mayo's team doctor Sean Moffat has insisted that every precaution was taken before allowing Cillian O'Connor and Aidan O'Shea return to action against Kerry last Saturday after a clash of heads.

"Cillian and Aidan sustained nasty facial injuries that required lacerations," Moffat said.

"I wasn't happy to let the players out until there was a period of observation. I took my time to see if there were any signs or symptoms of concussion.

"After around seven or eight minutes, Cillian O'Connor returned after taking a balance test and a warm up, while it took a few more minutes with Aidan."
