Moran expects different Derry

Mayo captain Andy Moran is predicting a much different game against Derry next Sunday.

The teams will meet again for a place in the Allianz Football League final at Croke Park after Mayo won yesterday's dress rehearsal 2-12 to 1-7. However, Derry - who had already qualified for the last four - will be back to full strength after making 14 changes for the trip to Castlebar.

"It'll be a very different Derry team next week," Moran stressed to the Western People.

"It'll be a very big day. They'll have big Lynchie (Mark Lynch), a friend of mine from Jordanstown, and a few other lads. It'll be a different challenge next week."

The centre forward believes the Connacht champions allowed complacency to creep into their play after leading by seven points at the break.

"We wanted to play better there in the second half. I suppose when you're 0-8 to 0-1 up and you're playing with a gale-force breeze, it's easy to take the foot off the gas and unfortunately we did, but we finished the game strongly and that made a big difference."
