Mayo manager James Horan believes that they made the right decision in appointing Andy Moran as captain.

Horan will lead the side this year, while goalkeeper David Clarke has been installed as vice-captain and Horan explained to the Western People, that the duo were ideal candidates for the positions.

"Andy and David are senior members of the panel and are well used to responsibility. They have great leadership qualities and will work with the rest of the squad to help us develop and improve every day we go out."

Moran will be hoping that one of his first tasks as captain will to be lift the league cup after they take on Cork in the division 1 final this Sunday. Tweet
