These are wonderful times for Ballintubber Club on the playing field with our senior side unbeaten so far in 2009 in league and championship. Congrats to our skilled players and their professional and dedicated management. They need your wholehearted support at Clogher next Sunday, July 5th at 4.30 as they strive to beat North mayo kingpins Moy Davitts. Ballintubber Junior team face a tough task on Saturday evening as they host Kiltimagh in the Junior ìAî Championship at Clogher at 5pm. Ballintubber are a talented side and they will not be overawed by any visitors their home patch. Our Under 21s defending County ìAî Champions beat a strong Ballinrobe team on Tuesday evening last and play Ballina away at 8pm on Wednesday evening next. Your loud and vocal support at these matches would be deeply appreciated. OPEN DAY AT BALLINTUBBER RESOURCE CENTRE Ballintubber Resource Centre will be open to the public on Sunday, July 12th . Viewing will take place >from 11am to 1.30pm. The project is virtually complete to a very high standard. The new wood floor in the main hall was completed recently and the kitchen has been furnished with all the necessary equipment and was financed locally by a generous doner. The Club presentation room has been furnished with a fine glass display unit which was also most genorously donated locally. This will enable Club silverware, pictures, memoroblia be displayed and also will allow Club records to be maintained for the future. Over the next number of months the Resource Centre will be made available gradually to members of the community who can avail of the facility. The gym will be equipped as well and the possibility of using the main hall for a variety of games and community activities explored etc. Phase 2 of the Club development programme will be the construction of the astro-turf pitch situated adjacent to the Resource Centre. Other developments at an advanced planing stage include the walkway around the park, the establishment of a Funeral Home, plus public footpath and lighting and these projects are currently being adressed. Needless to say these developments are costing major financial investment and the club deeply appreciate the tremendous support from across the Parish received to date. VOLUNTARY EFFORT Sincere thanks to all those club volunteers who have given of their time in the last fortnight to carry out major painting operations at Clogher Pitch and Clubrooms. Thanks to your unselfish efforts the pitch and its environs are vastly improved. Of course Red & White is the dominent colour. ìWe are Ballintubberî PRESENTATION ON SATURDAY NIGHT IN CARRA LODGE A Gala Presentation night will take place in Philbins Carra Lodge, Carnacon on Saturday night next July 4th. The proceeds of the recent very successful fundraiser for the Cormac Trust/ and the Ballintubber G.A.A Club Defibillator and Player Welfare Fund will be handed over to the relevant bodies. The McNallen family, Brendan and Bridget, will also be present on the night. Great credit for the success of this Project is due to the Mannion/Finnerty and Lally families. Members of Bord na n"g, the Senior Club and all Club supporters are urged to make a special effort to be present on the night. The weekly lotto draw with a Jackpot in excess of 10,000 Euro will also take place.
