O'Mahony surprised at one-sided affair

Former Mayo manager John O'Mahony
John O'Mahony was as surprised as anyone at how easy Mayo had things against Roscommon in Saturday's Connacht SFC semi-final.
"We came prepared for a battle today and it's very seldom there are one-sided games between us," the Mayo manager said after his side's 20-point victory.
"We had it in the late 70s with Roscommon and this one today, but it's very seldom otherwise.
"What we were trying to do was to get our game right. We took the early chances and got the cushion, and they missed a couple of chances down at our end. In the second half, we didn't implement our plan as much as we would have liked, but the game was dead at that stage.
"We were getting stick in the league this season for not being able to score at all in the first 20 minutes of games so we've solved that problem! But we can't be too complacent. There are a lot of things we need to work on, and we won't get a game like that in the Connacht final."
He added: "Roscommon are a far better team than that, but we're further along the developmental stage."
