Four changes for Mayo

June 18, 2009

Mayo's Alan Dillon
The Mayo team to face Roscommon in Saturday's Connacht SFC semi-final at McHale Park shows four changes from that which defeated New York in the opening round. Goalkeeper David Clarke has failed to recover from a groin strain and is replaced by Kenneth O'Malley, while Aidan Kilcoyne, Keith Higgins and David Heaney also come into the starting line-up in place of Donal Vaughan, Kevin McLoughlin and International Rules player Tom Parsons. However, both Vaughan and McLoughlin could yet start as there is a major doubt over corner back Liam O'Malley's participation due to an ankle injury he sustained in training last week. Despite recovering from a broken hand, Conor Mortimer has to be content with a place on the subs bench with Leaving Cert student Aidan O'Shea continuing at corner forward. The only unchanged line of the team from the New York game is the half forward line where team captain Trevor Mortimer is flanked by Pat Harte and Alan Dillon. Mayo (SF v Roscommon): K O'Malley; O O'Malley, G Cafferky, K Higgins, P Gardiner; T Howley, A Moran; D Heaney, R McGarrity; P Harte, T Mortimer, A Dillon; a Kilcoyne, B Moran, A O'Shea.
