The hosts continued to dominate the second half despite the bestefforts of the Mitchels and they sealed a comprehensive win as Noone completed his hat-trick with two further strikes.

St Kevins remain one of five teams at the top of the league on six points after scoring a 1-8 to 0-9 win at home to Nh Malachi.

The home side got off to the perfect start when Thomas Gregoryfound the net inside a minute, but they struggled to build on that score as the Courtbane side turned in an impressive display.

At half time the Kevins held a slender 1-4 to 0-4 lead but the Mals, playing with the wind in their backs, levelled with ten minutes remaining thanks to a Ronan Greene point before Padraig Moley put them ahead before Tiernan Gonnelly extended the gap to two points. However, the Kevins finished strongly and points from Seanie Crosbie (2), Andrew Campbell and Thomas Gregory gave them victory.

Roche got the better of Stabannon on a blustery Tuesday evening to come away with a 1-17 to 0-11 win to keep the pressure on the teams at the top of the table.

Although playing against a strong breeze in the opening half,Stabannon led by 0-3 to 0-2 on 15 minutes but Roche dominated the remainder of the half and were ahead by 0-8 to 0-3 at half time.

Stabannon did score two early frees from Daniel Bannon to close the gap to three points however Roche then scored the next five points to put the game beyond doubt before sealing victory with a late goal.

A brilliant David O'Neill point from a sideline ball gave the Sean McDermotts a narrow but deserved 1-9 to 0-11 victory over their neighbours who once again had Tommy Durnin in outstanding form.

The home side made a fine start racing into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead midway through the half but some fine scores from the Louth star brought the visitors back into contention to leave it 0-6 apiece at the break.

A goal from Kevin McMahon put the Seans in charge but Westerns looked to have rescued a draw with a late point.

However, David O'Neill had won the game for the McDermotts with his effort in the dying seconds. Tommy Durnin top scored for the Westerns with four points.

The game was relatively close at the end of the #rst half as Lannleire led by just 0-7 to 0-3 after playing into the wind.

However, they dominated the second period and added goals through Paul Callan (2) and Ben Holdcroft.

A late goal from Dermot Smith rescued a draw for Dowdallshill in their game away to St Nicholas with the game ending level at 3-8 to 4-5.

The hosts made good use of the wind in the first half as goals from Keith Arnold and Kevin Walsh helped them build up a nine point lead. However a late goal for Dowdallshill cut the gapto 2-4 to 1-1 at half time.
