Minors bid to cause upset

April 16, 2015

Louth minor footballers will be hoping to pull off a shock when they take on a highly fancied Kildare side in the Leinster MFC at Drogheda on Saturday.

The Lilywhites go into the match as favourites having had a great deal of success at this level in recent years. However, they face a tough test against an in-form Louth side.

The Wee County youngsters have only lost once in 15 matches and with Eugene Judge, Eamonn Dunne and Ken Rooney at the helm again, their preparations have been ideal.

Speaking to the Argus, Judge said: "They're a great bunch of lads and they've been going well with that Meath defeat the only blemish, but they got a good run on us that day and to be fair Meath are a good side.

"We would be quietly confident, but this is a good Kildare side too. I saw them a few weeks back and they're very strong around the middle and have a lot of pace and they made it to the league final, losing out to Dublin."
