ALL IRELAND U14'C' NATIONAL BLITZ
The Louth U14 Hurling Development squad travelled to Pairc Esler in Newry last Saturday August 30 to take part in the All Ireland U14 'C' National Blitz.

The U14 team with John Murphy and Charlie Geoghegan in charge were looking to win this title for the second year in a row and they made the best possible start by beating Derry 'B' in their opening group game by 4-12 to 0-1.

They followed that up with a good victory over Meath 'B' on a scoreline of 4-8 to 0-4 to set up a meeting with Longford, who topped the other group, in the Final.

The Wee County boys produced another terrific performance in the final with the lively Darren Geoghegan opening the scoring with a point. His Naomh Moninne club colleague Ultan McEneaney stuck for the games opening goal followed soon after by a point from Danny Morgan.

A second goal from McEneaney helped Louth to lead by 2-4 to 0-0 at the break. The second half proved to be a much closer affair as Geoghegan extended his sides lead with a point. Longford struck for a goal from a free but it was young Geoghegan who took his tally in the
final to four points to wrap up Louth's victory by 2-6 to 1-0 and with it the title of All Ireland 'C' champions.

Louths scorers in the Final were Ultan McEneaney (2-0), Darren Geoghegan (0-4, 0-3 frees), Danny Morgan (0-1) and Philip Tynan (0-1).
