Another impressive win for Louth footballers

January 30, 2012
Having come out on top in their two SF challenges last weekend, Peter Fitzpatrick's side recorded another impressive victory over Roscommon at Darver on Saturday evening.

Louth 3-14
Roscommon 1-16

Darren Clarke yet again shone for the winners notching up a personal tally of 2-4.

Clarke got the Wee County off to the best of starts with a goal from the penalty spot, however, Roscommon picked up the running soon after as they dominated the opening half and held a seven point lead at the break - 1-5 to 1-12.

The visitors stretched their advantage further to nine points but with a host of half time substitutes Louth began to find their feet and made immediate inroads cutting into the Rossies lead.

A second goal from the penalty spot from Clarke put Louth within touching distance before two quick points pushed them infront by the minimum.

A late goal from substitute Michael Rogers wrapped up a four point win for the hosts in what was a remarkable recovery.
