O'Leary joins up with Louth

Former Dublin great John O'Leary
Former Dublin goalkeeper John O'Leary is the latest high-profile addition to Peter Fitzpatrick's new-look Louth management team.

O'Leary, who is regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time and won two All-Ireland medals with Dublin in 1983 and '95 - he captained them to the latter success - has agreed to take up a goalkeeping and backs coaching role with the Wee County who face Westmeath in their NFL opener on February 5. It's likely that the losers of that game will face an uphill battle to retain their Division 2 status.

A former Wicklow manager who also managed the Dublin ladies team, O'Leary will link up with Donegal's 1992 All-Ireland winning manager Brian McEniff, who was recently appointed as a selector after acting as an advisor in the last two years.
