Following the decision of the Kilkenny footballers to withdraw from the O'Byrne Cup, Louth footballers are now without a competitive inter county clash for the coming weekend as their scheduled Mc Geough Cup game with Down has been cancelled.

The Wee County footballers were due to take on the Mourne Men on Saturday evening at Haggardstown but a mountain of injuries has forced Down to postpone the game.

The 2010 All Ireland finalist are down to take on Armagh on Sunday in the McKenna Cup and were not in a position to field twice on the same weekend. Tweet
