NHL 3B: Campbell inspires Donegal win

February 28, 2010
Donegal 1-21
Louth 3-10

Niall Campbell struck for 1-9 as Donegal saw off Louth to record their second win in as many games this afternoon at Letterkenny.

Louth looked the likely side after the opening half after Wesley Morrissey tucked away their first goal in the 15th minute and Gerard Smyth lashed home at penalty just before the interval to give them a 2-6 to 1-8 lead at half-time.

After the restart the hosts found their rhythm though with Campbell adding to his spectacular first-half goal by hitting the fore front and helping Donegal register seven point without reply.

Despite having their centre-back Joe Boyle sent off for a second caution and conceding a third goal from Shane Callan with seven minutes to go, Donegal held on for a win that keeps them at the top of the division.
