Leinster MFC: Holders too strong for 12-man Longford

May 21, 2012
Dublin 2-14
Longford 1-5

Dublin remain on course for back-to-back Leinster MFC titles after they easily accounted for a Longford side that finished Saturday's quarter-final at Parnell Park with just 12 players.

Conor McHugh's eighth-minute goal helped Dessie Farrell's men to a commanding 1-9 to 0-3 lead. Liam O'Sullivan was the first Longford man to see red in the 40th minute, but they were given hope nine minutes later when Larry Moran rattled the net.

But Moran's joy soon turned to despair when he too was sent off. Robbie Gaughan scored Dublin's second goal six minutes from the end before Longford's misery was complete when Cian Farrelly was also sent off on a second yellow card in the 58th minute.
