On Friday last our Reserve league Div. 1 panel had Abbeylara as visitors to Pairc na Gael. The first half was a keenly contested affair both sides picking off their scores. As the opening half drew to a close Abbeylara led 0-07 to 0-05 and it was at this stage they struck with 1-01 to leave the half time score Dromard 0-05 Abbeylara 1-09. In the second half our opponents built on their lead to finish ahead on the full time score line of Dromard 1-07 Abbeylara 2-12. Team and scorers; Gavin McNerney, Enda Kiernan, Padraig McNerney, James Conefrey, Paul McEntire, Padraig Jones, Mícheál Reilly, Kevin Donohoe (0-01), James Mimnagh (0-01), Michael Reynolds, Peadar Faughnan, Kieran McStay, Sean McNerney (0-02) 1 free, Dermot Reilly, Gary Maguire (1-03) 1-00 Pen, 3 frees. Subs used; Donie Conefrey, Kevin Maguire, Conor Kiernan and Thomas Conefrey. There will be another Reserve league Div. 1 fixture next weekend. We play Killoe in Special Junior league this Wednesday in Pairc na Gael at 8pm. Well done to Longford seniors on recording a morale boosting win against Laois on Sunday last in Pearse Park. Hard luck to Longford minors who were knocked out of the minor championship by Dublin on Saturday last.
Congratulations to Eamon Donohoe Dromard on his appointment as editor to RTE's Sunday Game series. Sincere condolences to the Kiernan family Aughamore Lower on their recent bereavement. Lotto results for Monday 14th May 2012. The numbers drawn were 8, 9, 26 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of the draw were Kate McGuinness, Matty McNerney, Alex Jones and Rosie Kiernan. The seller's prize was won by Noel Maguire.
St. Francis - Dromard
On Wednesday our under 10's travelled to Shroid for a blitz. We had two teams in action on the evening and they played teams from Grattan Gaels, St. Dominic's and Shroid. All players had an enjoyable hour's football. Thanks to all parents who attended and provided transport. Players on duty on the evening were as follows; Bríanna Murphy, Oisín O'Toole, James Brady, Matt Duffy, Ollie Duffy, Jason Grimes, Cathal Reilly, Cathy Conefrey, Fionn Hourican, Siobhan Murphy, Rory O'Toole, Aron Farrell, Jamie Conboy, Stephen Donohoe, Gavin Reilly. We host an under 8 blitz this Wednesday in Pairc na Gael at 7pm. On Thursday our under 14's travelled to Dunbeggan to take on Grattan Gaels in the league. We got the opening 2 points of the game through Dylan McCormack. By half time we had 7 points on the scoreboard. We added a further 1-04 to this to finish with a total of 1-11. Whilst this wasn't enough to get the win our players can be very happy with their display on the evening. This year's Cúl Camps will take place from July 9th to 13th in Dromard. Football, Hurling, Camogie, Rounders and Handball activities will be offered over the course of the camp.
